Markers pop-up and inforamtion (Body text)

Posted by Eric B at March 22. 2007

Hi,

Just installed the product for Google maps. Easy and straitforward!
Great steps toward something usefull when working with geographical related content.

Question: I couldn't figure out where to change the pop-up information windows from a marker. Appart from the look of the pop-up itself, I cannot figure out how to insert other element than the title and description. What about Body text and/or files attached as well as related content ?

What template should I look into/

Hi,

it's not possible for now to insert other than title and description properties of your's content types into markers. And customization will be too complicated.

But you can use html tags in your descriptions and it will be correctly rendered into markers body.

I've recently installed qPloneGoogleMaps and would say this: it would make more sense for the marker to use the Kupu-editable text field rather than the description field for rendering in the Google Map marker pop-up.

Having to type html directly into the description is bad because: (1) users typically can't edit html; (2) the html in the desc is not otherwise rendered as such within Plone, which makes the marker object read clumsily.

Nevertheless the tool is very useful - thanks for your efforts.

Product was developed with certain necessity to display title and description.

But in the next release of qPloneGoogleMaps it will become customizable what to display on maps (markers).

Thanks for suggestions
